I know this is a food blog, but sometimes an app is so good that transcends food that I gotta share it with you guys.
So basically going to the pharmacy sucks. You have to wait in-line, have someone know something deeply personal about you and then you have to pick up your medication in front of a gaggle of other people. Even worse, sometimes the Pharmacists aren’t that discrete with your medication prescription, further adding to your annoyance.
Luckily there’s a new app called CaryRx that’s currently just available to Washington D.C. residents (and other Maryland residents by Mail) that will DELIVER your prescriptions to you. But you’re going to say, other places already do that! Well they do, but they don’t do it for free. CaryRx will deliver your prescriptions for FREE!! CaryRx is an actual pharmacy with a team of experienced Pharmacists who can fill your order and answer any questions you may have.
How long do deliveries take? Same day deliver for D.C. residents. You can schedule your delivery within one hour to any location in D.C. and if you want to schedule it for another day in the future, you can do that too.
How does it even work? You just upload your paper prescription via a photo, or if you have an existing prescription your physician can directly prescribe to CaryRx. Your pharmacist will then fill your order and give it to their delivery service to bring to your door!
What if I have questions? No problem, you have a secure live chat with the team.
Is it more expensive? It’s the same co-pay as any other pharmacy you would go to and most major insurance providers are accepted.
Where can I download this magical app? Currently only on the Apple App Store, but the Android app release will be soon to follow.
What if I don’t live in D.C. and I want this magical CaryRx app!? Per the CaryRx Team, “Express deliveries will be available from Arlington to Bethesda and scheduled deliveries in Washington, D.C. Shipping will also be available to all of Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.”
The best thing about this whole thing is that it’s started by a bunch of local kids who are trying to revolutionize the pharmacy business, what more could you want? Did I mention the delivery is free?
Let me set the scene:
*You’re coughing up phlegm*
You: All I want to do is crawl into a hole and sleep for the next 72 hours! But damn it to hell, I have to go to the F’ing pharmacy to pick up my meds. I wish someone could just bring them to me for free.
You get the point.
