Pure Organic Banana Coconut Bar

The product review series is back in full force. Next up on my tour of the health bar world is the “Pure Organic: Banana Coconut.” Did I mention that I’m a sucker for nice packaging and pretty pictures? I’m literally like a 6 year old.

This bar is a big old Meh. It’s not bad, it’s not good, it just is.

Appearance: Packaging wise it’s pretty. Looks wise it kind of looks like a banana bread bar (which is what I wished this was).

Nutritional Value: Not terrible for you but not great either. The bar touts 6g of protein & 4g of fiber. There are no artificial sweeteners in this, which is nice. This is much more of a snack than a meal replacement, which to be fair to them is what they advertise it as.

Taste:  Strong flavor, not as heavy on the dates as the other bars. I would rather instead of so much date they use apple or even honey or something to lessen the powerful aftertaste the pureed date has. It has a good crunch & consistency, not having chocolate actually works to its advantages. Coconut flavor actually works to the detriment of the overall flavor profile. Would have been better served to be just banana, like say a banana nut crunch bar.

Final Grade: C+, would not buy again.
