The Kitchen Playlist Week of 11-17-2014

Brick Lane Music Club

The Kitchen Playlist is back. Here are some awesome songs to get you through your week. Some of you may have heard of Foxygen if not, they have a cool 60’s vibe to them and I think “San Francisco” is the perfect introduction to them.

Hozier is everywhere right now, but being the indie band kid at heart that I am, I found him first. Well not really, but I started listening to him this past summer as he was making the festival circuit. His live act is unreal and this song is perfect. It’s not his smash hit , “Take Me To Church” , but you’ll love this song .

The Black Keys are what rock purists like to point to as one of the last bastions of Rock and or Roll (haha) in the music scene today. I think that really depends on what your definition of Rock and or Roll is, but they do put out some great stuff and this song is off of their new album.

Don McLean’s “Vincent” is his ode to Vinny Van Gough (how much did you cringe right there? haha). It’s beautiful and you can’t help but sing along by the end, my Fiancee can attest to this. When “Vincent” comes on the radio, get radio for a terrible Don McLean rendition.

And we close this week’s Kitchen Playlist with The Zombies, “This Will Be Our Year”. This is a great song that fills you with hope especially if you’ve found someone in your life that really matters to you.

You can find all of these songs on Spotify or iTunes. The links below will send you to the tracks on Spotify.

2-Hozier- From Eden

3-The Black Keys- Gotta Get Away
