Kitchen Playlist – 12-11-14

December 11, 2014 by theunmanlychef

The picture above is from Baltimore’s (Specifically Hampden’s) 34th street light display. If you live in MD, this is something to see, it’s really impressive and creative how these folks light up their homes.

The Kitchen Playlist is BACK! With some great tunes as we edge near the holiday apex. No matter what holiday you celebrate, it seems like December is the busiest time of year.

This week is a mix of some Christmas tunes and other great songs to get you through the week.

The first two tracks are Christmas songs with a more somber tone, because I mean really who doesn’t love being mopey around the holidays?! But seriously, they are really nice songs and you’ll probably enjoy them.

Brandi Carlile is an amazing singer/songwriter, who is one of the best live acts I’ve ever seen.

Tracy Chapman has one of the best voices around and her unique sound  gives this Christmas song an entirely new dimension.

The third track is from Bleachers, who you have probably now seen on TV. This song was featured in a Chase Freedom ad recently, they’re becoming very popular (indie band kind inside of me crys a little). But they have a really fun sound that I think you will enjoy.

The fourth track, by Jungle is a fun song with a one of a kind sound that you normally don’t hear on your regular radio. This is a great song for working out or if you want to get pumped up for something.

And finally, Twin Shadow’s , “To The Top” was one of my favorite songs of the past year, it has that almost epic vibe to it where you will want to listen to it over and over again.

I hope you enjoy these songs and let me know what you think in the comments section. Again, all these songs can be purchased or listened to through iTunes or Spotify. If you have the Spotify App on your phone/or web player on your computer, the links will take you to the songs.

1- Brandi Carlile – The Heartache Can Wait

2- Tracy Chapman – O’ Holy Night

3- Bleachers – Rollercoaster

4- Jungle – Busy Earnin

5- Twin Shadow – To The Top
