The Kitchen Playlist is BACK!
There is really nothing better than discovering new music. It’s kind of my favorite thing to do, you find a great song and then you listen to it on repeat. I hope that my Kitchen Playlist Series can do that for you.
Leave a comment if you love any of these songs or grow to love these songs.
Again you can find all of these songs on iTunes, Spotify, or your local music store (where they exist).
1- Broncho- Class Historian – This is a fun song that has a quick pace. Broncho is a cool band with a great sound out of Oklahoma. This is a newer band and this song is making its rounds through the indie scene right now.
2- Generationals- When they fight, they fight – This is a fun playful song that has a great 60’s sound to it. It came out in 2009 in a Bloomingdales commercial, so you know it will be catchy.
3- BØRNS– Electric Love – This song rules. I heard it on the Indie Spotify Mix and I instantly had to add it to my playlist. It’s catchy. It has a great almost epic hook, you will be hooked. He is a artist from Michigan but is now based in LA.
4- Third Eye Blind – Faster – Third Eye Blind is probably one of my favorite all time bands. I’ve seen them more than once live and they are one of the best live acts I have ever seen. They really cater to their crowd and the entire crowd sings along with their songs. What’s great about music is that listening to a particular song can instantly take you back to a time in your life, almost like a time machine. This song does that for me.
5- TOPS – Change of Heart – TOPS is a Canadian Band with an awesome synthy french-pop sound. I love it, I heard this on Sirius XMU on my way home one day from work and I was hooked. The chorus hook on this song is perfect.
6- The War on Drugs – Red Eyes – War on Drugs has really taken off in the last year. I strongly recommend listening to this song, it will probably start transitioning to the more popular avenues of music this year.
7- Future Islands – Seasons – Baltimore’s own Future Islands breakout single, “Seasons” is a great song. 2014 was a great year for this band as they appeared on numerous late night talk shows to play.
8 – The Growlers – Someday – I found the Growlers on a random music channel that was playing on my Roku player while I was washing the dishes. They were doing what is called a “Take Away Show”, where they basically perform like a street band. It was really interesting and I love their sound.
9 – Men at Work – Overkill – Who doesn’t love Men at Work? Nothing else to say.
10- Jackson Browne- Tender is the Night – Jackson Browne, he has some sort of a controversial past, but he is one of America’s greatest musicians regardless. This song is catchy and is a fun listen. Jackson Browne heavily influenced The Eagles, and was a close friend of the band especially early on.
