Rosemary Pork Chops

Pork chops are a delicious dinner treat. When I think of pork chops I think of Homer Simpson and his affinity for them.

I grew up with The Simpsons. I always tell my Fiancee that TV was my White American family. I learned about all the American customs and social norms from it growing up as a first generation Iranian American. In the 90’s the first family of comedy was The Simpsons. Despite just being 4 or 5 when it really became popular in the early 90’s I instantly fell in love with the show. I never missed an episode and to this day I can quote lines. So in a round about way I learned about pork chops from Homer and his family.

Pork chops can usually be found with the bone or without. I feel with the bone offers more flavor in my opinion. If it doesn’t have the bone, that cut usually lends itself to being breaded and fried.

I decided to serve it with some mushrooms and I made a mushroom sauce with it that I will show below. I hope you enjoy!

Recipe

Ingredients

2 Bone In Pork Chops

1 Package of White Mushrooms

4 Cloves of Crushed Garlic

2 Tbsp. Sour Cream

3 Tbsp. White Wine

2 Tbsp. Butter

1 Tbsp. of Rosemary

1 Tbsp. Salt

1/2 Tbsp. Pepper

1/2 Cup Chicken Broth

Method

Marinate the pork chops with the salt, pepper, and rosemary. While this is going on, cut your mushrooms in half. Throw them in a frying pan with 1 Tbsp. of the Butter and your garlic. Allow them to brown up and then add your chicken broth.

Allow these to simmer. Once this is done, add your mushroom, broth, and garlic to a blender and blend until it’s a nice smooth mixture. You now have a pork chop sauce!

Heat up the rest of your butter in a pan, and then add your pork chops.

Brown them on each side. Once both sides have browned, reduce the heat. Add a touch of chicken broth to allow the pork chops to simmer in. Use your white wine to deglaze the pan and to build some more flavor.

Once your pork chops are done, top them with your mushroom sauce and enjoy!
