The Heated Butter Knife

I was recently approached by a website called, DadGifts.com, to do a product review for them. While, I’m not a Dad I do feel like I have a good sense of what most Dad’s would want. DadGifts.com, is a great site to find all sorts of neat gifts for your Dad that venture outside of the typical boring gifts you would buy for him.

The site itself is really cool, I like to think of it sort of as a online Brookstone but just for Dads. It has all sorts of cool gifts that you would never think of when you’re just walking through the mall.

Now the product I chose to review, may not exactly fall into the Dad gift category exactly, but it caught my eye because of what it promised. A Heated Butter Knife.

Yes that’s right, a butter knife so technologically powerful and advanced that without any electricity it would heat your butter for you so it spreads more evenly on your morning toast.

The box says that the knife uses the heat from your hand to conduct heat to the knife which in turn will help heat your butter. The heated butter will then spread easier. It kind of does that.

The knife itself is pretty fancy feeling, it’s one piece of metal rather than a typical butter knife that feels like you have a handle and blade.

For the knife to actually work effectively, you need to hold it in your hand for a little bit to heat up, once you do that you can kind of see the butter melt on the knife.

Overall the gift was okay, but the website itself is really cool. One gift that I wish I had tried was the Charge Key which is a travel keychain cell phone charger. Because everybody knows, Papa loves himself some cellphone time and nothing is worse than cellphone time being cut short by the abrupt bonking noise your phone makes when it’s battery is low.

So check out DadGifts.com and surprise your Dad with something original.
