Fusion – Hunt Valley

Hunt Valley is a interesting place when it comes to food, despite the overwhelming majority of what I would describe as “American Food” restaurants (meaning they basically serve crab cakes, roasted meats, and other perfectly fine but boring foods), with the deluge of pub food upon you it can be hard to sometimes find the diamonds in the rough just waiting to be visited.

One such place is Fusion which sits right off of York Road up near Cockeysville, Fusion is exactly what it sounds like it’s an Asian fusion restaurant which serves up cuisine from all over Asia. From Thai food to Sushi, anything you can think of is essentially at Fusion. But I’m not here to talk about whether their pad thai is great or if their sushi rolls are up to snuff (they’re pretty good though).

I’m here to talk about one thing and one thing only and that’s their lunch special, which is the “Pan-Asian Rice Bowl”, specifically the Japanese Wasabi bowl. You have your choice of raw fish (or cooked fish, but why?) to go along with warm rice, fresh cucumber, avocado, seaweed salad, and ginger. This entire thing (pictured above) only costs 9 bucks! It reminded me of the amazing poke bowls in Hawaii, the quality of these bowls is great, I always order the raw tuna bowl. You really cannot beat this place, especially for lunch, I mean ask yourself the question would you rather have some played out fast casual lunch that costs you between 9 & 12 dollars? OR eat a delicious poke bowl for just 9 dollars, plus you get salad and miso soup! You can’t beat it.

Fusion is amazing and you can even get this bowl for dinner if you want, I’ve never really ordered anything else when I’ve gone here but enough people who have eaten with me here have said it was good that I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that their other dishes are probably good too.

Overall Grade: A
