Living Classrooms is one of the mainstay organizations in Baltimore City that helps provide hands-on educational programming and job training supporting youth and young adults living in high risk environments. It helps provide valuable enriching services to the local community, and the money raised by this event actually goes directly to their programs where the money will have first-hand impact on the at-risk youth and young adults in the city. Living Classrooms operates over 30 programs in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. all aimed at transforming the lives of the citizens of those communities while simultaneously helping the city’s at-risk youth reach their full potential.
Each year, Living Classrooms hosts a celebration that helps fund their organization it’s called the Maritime Magic celebration. The event is a big party that has live music, drinks, and various gourmet food vendors providing a great experience to party goers. The party is hosted by Living Classrooms down at their headquarters in Fells Point at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park.
This year the event is being held on September 30th at 7:00PM, it’s going to have over 80 of the best local restaurants providing great food to go along with local live acts providing the jubilant soundtrack to your evening. If you’ve ever wanted to try some of the delicious restaurants in Fells Point but didn’t want to invest in all the calorie bombs you’d have to drop on your diet, well you can nosh on different tasty treats from all of them at this event. You can try meatballs from the 8Ball Meatball, pizza from the titan of Baltimore hipster pizza Birroteca, and/or food from the living legends at Blue Moon Cafe. By the end of the night, you can literally have tasted all of Fells Point and the greater Baltimore food scene without having to leave the park!
If food, live music, and drinks aren’t your thing, you probably are already counting yourself out, but even still you should come out to support a great organization that is really helping people. Living Classrooms works towards building a better Baltimore and I think that’s something we can all get behind, so help Baltimore while helping yourself have a great time by attending this great event.
