The chocolate hazelnut spread world just got a lot more interesting. Most people know about Nutella and maybe some of you who are in the chocolate hazelnut spread illuminati know about Natural Nectar. But you might not know about, Rigoni Di Asiago and their insanely delicious (dare I say way better) Nocciolata chocolate hazelnut spread.

First lets talk about Rigoni Di Asiago, they’re a family business that’s been specializing in delicious Italian spreads for almost over 100 years. Their products are produced responsibly and use only organic ingredients, free of any weird chemicals or cheap alternatives which ruin the flavor. The Nocciolata has no artificial sweeteners, preservatives, or additives, it contains less sugar and is free of any hydrogenated fats. Their products are imported from Italy, this may sound funny, but you can taste the difference between their brand and the others.

Their main attraction, the Nocciolata is a chocolate hazelnut spread (which now comes in a dairy free option), is AMAZING. I got to try it and I was instantly hooked. There’s so many things you can do with a delicious chocolate hazelnut spread, you could make gianduja pie, mini gianduja pies, or gianduja bites!

But if you don’t have time to crank out those rather time-consuming options, I’d like you to entertain the thought of a delicious sauteed plantain topped with this Nocciolata spread for breakfast or dessert. It’s heavenly.

If you’re jonesing for this amazing chocolate hazelnut spread (and you should) you can find it at Whole Foods, Yes Organic Market, Giant/Landover and various other organic markets in the Baltimore area.
