Eattini Thai Kitchen – Ellicott City

I love good Thai food. Howard County doesn’t have a lot of it, but luckily a new place has come to change that. Eattini Thai Kitchen opened up in the Double T Diner Shopping Center and it has some great options for you to try. The first thing that strikes you about Eattini is the decor in the restaurant, it’s very modern and chic. That’s not a knock on other Thai restaurants, but it’s just different, in a good way!

Their menu is structured much like any other Thai place, except in the fact that it has items listed as “street” food which I thought was a nice touch. This is where you’ll find some of your favorites like Drunken Noodles or Pad Thai.

I started with the Pad Thai, because duh, you have to. The Pad Thai was excellent, it was very flavorful and filled with fresh ingredients. While it does veer towards the sweeter side of things it was still delicious and a must try. I ordered it with shrimp, and the chunks of shrimp were fresh and de-veined. The portion size is enough for two people to share, but they do skimp a little on the shrimp so if you want more meat, opt for the chicken or ask for more.

From there we moved to the curries, we ordered the Panang and yellow curry. The panang curry is smooth, flavorful, and less creamy than some of the others that I’ve had locally. I actually enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t so creamy, while I do love a good creamy curry, this was much lighter and didn’t leave you feeling gross. There was a decadent peanut flavor in the aftertaste of the curry along with a nice hint of spice to remind you that the curry is also slightly spicy. The yellow curry was also very good, probably not as much as a must have as the Panang though.

In regards to foods I wish I had tried I really would like to try the Chu Chee duck and Fried Chicken Wings, both looked amazing.

Overall, Eattini is a welcome addition to the Ellicott City/Howard County Food Scene.

Final Grade: B+
Food: very good, I would put it on par with Thai Aroma on the other side of Rt. 40.
Service: Friendly and fast.
Price: Reasonable.
Access: Very easy, lots of parking.
