ShopRite’s Wholesome Pantry Snacks Review

January 24, 2018 by theunmanlychef

*This is a sponsored post by ShopRite, they provided me with products to review as apart of their Wholesome Pantry campaign. All of the opinions are my own.

As we leave the wasteland that we call 2017 behind and enter 2018, everyone pretty much has the same goal this year. To be healthier. Whether that’s making healthier choices at the grocery store or choosing some more healthy habits in lieu of some unhealthy ones, getting healthy I’m sure is many people’s goal this year.

ShopRite a grocery store that’s often synonymous with affordable living is making a push to help people have more affordable options when it comes to healthy snacks. Snacks are often an easy way to overdo it, whether it’s eating too many of something or choosing the wrong thing, healthy snacks can be challenging to find. ShopRite is looking to make that easier for everyone, they asked me to try a few of their products and to let you all know what I thought.

Now for me healthy snacks are always a must because I’m a growing boy (too much growth if you ask my pants), so I’m always on the lookout for healthy snacks that I can nosh on during the work week. They gave me the following things to try, Almonb Butter, an Organic “Energy” Mix of trail mix, Freeze Dried Fuji Apples, Crushed Pepper & Truffle Oil Popcorn, and Pecan Halves.

Let’s start with the almond butter, anything with butter after it is always a good idea in my opinion. Everyone knows how good almonds are for you so I wont go into detail about how great they are for you. The almond butter was delicious and perfect at the part of the day when you’re starving after lunch, I opted to put some of the almond butter on a piece of whole wheat toast and it was GOOD. This is a great way to use almond butter without overdoing it, a tablespoon of this stuff on a piece of toast is a great snack option.

During the work day I often get a hankering for something crunchy so I opted to try the energy mix trail mix and the pecans. Both were divine, I love a good healthy crunchy snack and the mix of nuts, sunflower seeds, raisins, and pecans were the perfect mix. Now there were some items that weren’t for me and that was the organic popcorn and the freeze dried apples. I’m not a big popcorn guy and the flavor on the popcorn just wasn’t strong enough for me. Meanwhile, for the freeze dried apples the flavor was good but for me I can’t get past freeze dried fruits consistency, the quality was great and if you enjoy freeze dried fruit these are definitely for you.

Overall, I think what ShopRite is doing is great, everyone needs healthy snack options no matter what your budget is.
