Carlson’s Donuts – Annapolis

March 12, 2018 by theunmanlychef

Sometimes in life you just want good cheap donuts that don’t come from a national chain. Luckily in Annapolis there’s a Thai restaurant that also happens to serve delicious donuts in the morning. Carlson’s Donuts in Annapolis is a small Thai restaurant with a counter that serves up delicious donuts every morning.

Carlson’s is easy to miss and the entrance is not the easiest (it’s a tight parking lot), but persevere and you’ll be rewarded with delicious donuts. I was in the area and had heard about this place so I had to try. I got here during the mid morning time and I regretted it because a lot of the major donut flavors were already gone (there was a line even when we got there). They’re known for their potato donuts which are really like apple fritters, but with potato instead. It’s definitely different, the potato lends a very nice mild flavor to the squishy fried pastry.

Make sure you bring cash, because it’s cash only (I’ve noticed most donut places are for some reason). This place is worth it if you’re in the area, definitely a hidden gem. I hear the Thai food is good too.
