Product Review – Mama Faith’s Olive Spread

December 13, 2018 by theunmanlychef

This is a sponsored post, but the opinions are my own

Olive spread in Persian culture is very very popular, we call it Zeytoon Parvardeh, and it’s very hard to find at any Persian grocery store. And when you do find it, it’s usually not very good. It’s usually too salty or too tangy and never the right consistency, luckily I got to try some of Mama Faith’s Olive Spread and oh mama is it good. The kind owner of Mama Faith’s reached out to me to try their product, as a local Howard County vendor I was happy to give it a try but I offered no guarantees.

The story behind Mama Faith’s is one of determination, hard work, and years of trying to make an idea a reality. Mama Faith told me that for years friends and family had told her that she should sell her Zeytoon Parvardeh because it was so good. Every time she would make it at a party it would be the first thing that would go, she said that people would ask to take some home because it was so good. The fanatical following of her Zeytoon Parvardeh got her thinking that she should make it herself and sell it to folks, that idea has taken several years but it’s finally come to fruition and the end result is Mama Faith’s Olive Spread (it also comes in spicy). Faith has put her blood, sweat, and tears into making this product and she stands firmly behind it she said, so I tried it without hesitation.

The verdict? It’s really good! I had it with a crusty piece of warm sourdough bread and it was a little bit of heaven. But it goes really well on just about anything, I really like using it for dinner as a final topping on chicken and beef. I’ll make a chicken bowl with mixed greens, a grain, and then I top it off with the olive spread. It’s so satisfying. If you like the idea of delicious olive spread in your life, you can find her product on her website or through Persian Basket. Either way you need to try it.
